Acute Care

At York General Hospital, every patient is more than a number — you are our neighbor, our friend, and our family. As a Critical Access facility, we provide care in a setting that feels close to home, with twenty‑two beds devoted to supporting patients who are healing from illness or recovering after surgery.

For growing families, we offer three specially designed Labor‑Delivery‑Recovery‑Postpartum (LDRP) rooms. These welcoming spaces are thoughtfully equipped to provide comfort and safety during labor and delivery, while ensuring both mother and newborn receive attentive, compassionate care throughout their stay.

Skilled Nursing Care

Swing-Bed Care can be provided for a limited period of time following an acute stay due to an injury, illness, or surgery. It is designed to be short term and rehabilitative in nature. Services such as physical, occupational, or speech therapy are examples of skilled services provided during such a stay.

Medicare, Medicaid, and most insurance companies cover inpatient skilled care if specific criteria are met; individuals must meet the following qualifications:

Hospice

At York General, we understand the importance of dignity, comfort, and peace during life’s final chapter. For patients who are transitioning to hospice care, we provide a dedicated hospice room designed to offer a quiet, supportive environment for both patients and their loved ones.

In this space, our caring staff focuses on comfort measures and works closely with hospice providers to ensure pain is managed and emotional and spiritual support is available. Families are encouraged to spend meaningful time together, surrounded by compassion and respect.
