Dr. Ongstad is board certified in Vascular and General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery; Ongstad joined Bryan Heart in 2019. Ongstad earned her Medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Madison, WI.

She completed her residency in general surgery at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA, and completed a fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA.
